Normal

Quick check

Answer 3 questions to check what you learned.

1. If light hits a mirror at 40° from the normal, it reflects at…
2. The normal is a line…
3. Which surface reflects light best?

Try at home

On a sunny day, use a small mirror to bounce a patch of sunlight onto a wall. Tilt the mirror a little and watch the patch move twice as far. Never point it at anyone's eyes.
